Huntington Native, Kathi McKay, will be performing at Schooners Waterfront Grille on Wednesday October 6, 5-8pm. Kathi has been a professional musician since her graduation from Marshall University, singing and playing keyboard with many well known performers as well as writing and singing her original songs.
She currently owns TimeHarmony , a music production studio in Tucson, AZ. She has won advertising “Addy” Awards for several commercials, as well as written and produced original music for independent film, radio and television and the internet. In addition, she manages the band “OnesAll”, and other independent artists.

Doyle Grisham and Michael Armstrong will be on the deck at Schooner’s Friday, September 17th. Music starts at 7:30PM.
Starting in May of 1999, Doyle began touring with the Jimmy Buffett Show. Doyle had recorded several albums with Jimmy Buffett over the last 25 years and in February of 1999, Jimmy called Doyle back to do another album with him, that being “Beach House On The Moon”. About a month or so after the completion the recording of the album, Jimmy called and asked if Doyle would be interested in doing some shows with him and his band, The Coral Reefers, Grisham gladly accepted his offer. During the past few years Doyle has been honored to be asked to come and play at events for several Parrot Head Organizations across the country. The Parrot Head Organizations support the Jimmy Buffett style of music and hold their events to raise money for many worthwhile charities. Wednesday at Schooner’s, the outdoor deck will once again have a free taco bar and $2 Margaritas from 5PM to 8PM. Buckets of 5 Corona or Dos Equis for $14 will also be available.
Thursday, 6PM to 8PM on the deck will be the first of a monthly wine tasting event. Randy Masinter will be on hand to help expand your palate and Schooner’s will also be taking reservations for the next wine event on July 15, a cruise aboard the Mark Twain riverboat.
Saturday Night at 7:00PM, also on the deck, enjoy the sounds of Scott Niles.

Youth Soccer Tournament Video Features the Mark Twain

Friday night at 7PM, also on the deck, enjoy the sounds of Ryan Slone. Slone is an acoustic singer / songwriter from Chesapeake, Ohio. He started playing piano at the age of 10and picked up the guitar at 17. Slone began writing songs shortly thereafter and has performed with multiple bands and has also performed solo at nearly every live music venue in the Huntington area. His influences are Otis Redding, Elton John and Eric Clapton to Keith Urban, Gavin DeGraw and everything in between. At a live show expect nothing less than a good time with a catalog of over 250 covers combined with a few favorite originals.

Schooner’s Waterfront Grille will feature Laura Evans and Company Friday May, 7 as the entertainment on the deck. The deck will open at 4PM with Laura and Company performing at 7:30. Evans is an American contemporary vocalist performing new compositions and new interpretations of pop tunes and standards. Her influences include jazz, folk, pop, and country. As a lifelong musician, she is a classically trained singer who recently decided to leave the world of art song and arias and turned to songwriting and singing the music that she loves. Her first album, my song to you is Love, will be released this month. The new compositions are a result of collaboration between Evans, Bob Thompson, and Marc Miller. Performing with Laura Friday will be, Randraiz Wharton, piano, Christian Tanzey, trumpet.
Schooner’s Waterfront Grille will hold its grand opening on Friday April 30th at 5:30PM. The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce along with other dignitaries will be present to cut the ribbon that officially opens Huntington’s newest floating restaurant.
At 6PM the Cabell Huntington Visitors and Convention Bureau will take the Mark Twain on its maiden voyage from Schooner’s. The Mark Twain is a 149 passenger paddle wheel boat that will be available for public and private cruises starting Thursday May 6th.
Then at 6:30 the Space Cowboys, featuring Joe Lambiotte, Bud Carroll and Chris Davis will entertain at the outside bar until 8:30

Schooner’s Waterfront Grille, a new restaurant located in Huntington on the Ohio River is now open. With inside and outside seating, Schooner’s offers great views of the water and 31st Street bridge. The floating facility will seat approximately 210 people inside and 100 on the open air deck.
Schooner’s Waterfront Grille is located at Buffington Street and the Ohio River in the Guyandotte section of Huntington WV. The restaurant features a full menu with emphasis on fish and steaks. An expanded children’s menu also has healthy choices of fish, pasta and chicken. Managing partner Mark Canterbury expects to employ about 100 people and is currently taking applications.
The restaurant will open on Friday, April 23 at 11AM for lunch. Operating hours are; Monday – Thursday 11am – 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am -11pm and Noon to 9pm on Sundays.
